A great choice for first-time users, the original Portland, Oregon multi-tool manufacturer is making you your very own Sidekick. This handy pocket-sized tool has all the features you need to get your project done, at a fraction of the cost. Leatherman’s trademark, outside-accessible blades mean you can open the knife with just one hand and rounded handles make getting a grip around their all-new, spring-action jaws easy and very comfortable. Stainless steel and backed by a 25-year warranty; first choice, or handy second backup, you can’t beat the value of the Sidekick

Big fan of Leatherman here, and when I saw the Sidekick and Wingman coming out, I knew I'd have to try this one. It's nice to be able to get a pockettool for those of us who can't or don't want to wear a sheath on their belt. I have a Juice CS4, and a Skeletool, and realized that this one would probably be similar in size and functionality. I also pocketclip carry a Charge Ti or Wave from time to time.

At the end of the day, I don't think that this tool is going to win the majority of carry time over those I mentioned above. But for someone without a Juice or Skeletool, it's a good entry into the world of Leatherman pocketools. I find the one-handed knife opening to be a bit clumsy, and access to other tools is not all that quick. But it packs in itself much more functionality than the Skeletool, and the pliers and knife are more robust than a Juice can offer. So overall, well done by Leatherman.
